Good read! I listened while I was sick in bed. A good captivating story. Left some things unanswered, which I can appreciate rather than rushing to tie up lose ends.

This was a glorious read. Might even been the best book I've read all year.
Did I ever think I would fall in love with reading from an octopus' POV? No. But now I'm so sad that it's over. It felt like I could keep reading this book forever and I could not put it down. All the characters in this book will tug on your heartstrings.
The puzzle pieces of the story fell pretty quickly for me and maybe that took away a bit of a surprise. But every chapter, every sentence was a joy to read.

I laughed out loud and I sobbed out loud.
This might be the most immediate 5-star I've ever given.

@Shelby Van Pelt, you should be incredibly proud of your debut novel. I look forward to other books you may write.

I've never read a book that you could tell the ending from the first 30 pages. I felt like the middle just dragged on and on, despite having the benefit of an octopus narrator.

The ending was amazing. Everyone says read this audiobook because Marcellus the octopus was amazing… but Cameron was voiced by a woman and his voice just seemed really whiny. I understand he was down on his luck, but it was hard to oversee.

This book is about an old woman named Tova who worked as a janitor at the aquarium. She is truly too old to work, but is the type of person who can’t stay still. She has a cat named cat. Her husband William has died and her son Erik died 30 years ago. He loved the ocean which is where he was found.

Cameron is down on his luck. His girlfriend kicked him out. He can’t keep a job, but he is very smart. His mom died and he has some jewelry. He finds a classroom and now believes he has found his father. He moves to Seattle submit his father/blackmail him because he desperately funny while in Seattle. He ends up taking Tova’s old job because she recently sprained her ankle. Cameron and Tova have a good relationship.

There is also Marcelis octopus as the reader you get his perspective but as the character Cameron Tova, he is just curious octopus with the tendency to break out.
