Genuinely was not expecting this to be as funny as it was. It’s like someone picked out exactly all the things that made Pamela annoying and made them funny. I literally laughed out loud at the ‘Dear Creature’ bit. 10/10

This was a reading assignment from my then girlfriend during her 19th century novels class. It was an interesting read. Parson Adams overshadows the title character by miles, though.

Joseph Andrews: 3 stars
Shamela: 4 stars

To be honest, I'll rate anything that ridicules Pamela relatively high.

The only good thing and somewhat interesting was the end. I means this book is old, but I don’t know I can’t just let it slide because of that
