I marked this book as a DNF but I want the records to show that I just skimmed the last two chapters or so. I got the jist of the story, knew I didn't like it so just stopped instead of spending any more time to get the same result.

I picked this up just so I had something to read at work while on breaks and I didn't expect anything much so I wasn't too disappointed but the whole story just didn't feel well rounded. It was too WHAM WHAM WHAM and then WHAM. It would have been nice to see character development instead of just being told it happened.

I'm sure this book/series makes some people happy. Unfortunately, it just did nothing for me.

Loved their story.
Wish there was more between Minka and Zarina bonding over their Russian heritage. And I was so looking forward to seeing more of Declan and Kendra. Fingers crossed they will be in the next book.

This one starts out intense. Angelo had a tough past and now he's in Special Forces. He helps Minka. Minka as been experimented on and now she's a hybrid, with a beast inside her that she can't control. Angelo is the only one who can calm the beast. Minka and Angelo are adorable. Just a really cute couple. This is a great series. Full of action and suspense and steamy romance. This one is particularly sweet, though. Loved it.

Would have been a happy 3.5 stars if Jayson's depiction had been less ableist, so my feels are actually probably closer to 2.5 stars. And it's not that I can't sympathize with someone needing to adapt from having a healthy, active, able body to having a body with chronic pain and mobility impairments, but dude that situation really needs to be handled better than it was here.

Also, I know nothing about Minka's culture even by the end of the story. She's half Russian, half Tajik, but depicted like .... nothing. I don't know her religious heritage, her food culture, she seems to have had no friends. She's like a wide-eyed alien baby who sprang out fully formed. It was a little weird.

This book was so awesome! I loved seeing these two together, and the note from the author said that they were meant to be together since the first book when they were introduced! So great! Really enjoyed it!

Minka has escaped from the research facility in Tajikistan where Klaus and Renard had been using her as one of their experiments, making her into one of the hybrid shifters created using Ivy's DNA. When Angelo finds her, she is frightened and out of control with her beast in charge, but for some reason, his presence calms Minka to the point that she can regain control. Angelo makes Minka feel safe, so he accompanies her back to Washington D. C. where she works with Zarina to learn to control her raging beast, but time isn't on their side as the DCO wants to put a stop to the experiments in Tajikistan.

Her Fierce Warrior continues the story of the shifters and hybrids in the fourth entry in the X-Ops series. Characters from previous stories show up in this book, but the main plot revolves around the relationship between Minka and Angelo. The action packed beginning and ending of this book make up for the multiple conversations that cause the plot to drag in the middle of the book. In addition, subplots throughout the book draw the focus away from the main characters enough that their development feels a little underwhelming. The character of Minka seems overly clingy; however, that is understandable based on her situation. Even though Her Fierce Warrior is a little slow in places, overall it is a good addition to the X-Ops series. 3 1/2 stars

The right amount of action and romance for my tastes, with added paranormal elements. This advances the larger plot, and has a reasonably satisfying romance. I was a little skeptical about the instalust on her part, since she was raised in a very modest culture.

Her Fierce Warrior by Paige Tyler is the fourth book in the X-OPS Series. It is a paranormal suspense romance if the cover didn't give some of the genre away. Kidnapped and experimented on, Minka escapes the laboratory cage from scientist's who torture. On the run she is found by Special Forces soldier, Angelo. Can she trust Angelo, the only thing that can calm the beast inside, when she's not even sure she can control herself around him. Angelo recognizes a hybrid when he sees Minka and to help get her to safety he calls his former team leader, Landon. But Minka and the beast inside are only calm when Angelo is near so Angelo's protective instincts kick in and sticks with Minka, falling for the other each moment together.

I haven't read any other books in this series and wasn't confused when placed in this world. The world building was strong. The dialogue and characters were developed. The storyline was fun, and interesting with shady government cover ups, evil corporate dicks, as well as friends that help strengthen Minka's control.

What I like the most about this book was the growth Minka's character had through the story. She really gained a believable amount of confidence and strength. It had nice action sequences especially at the end. I like the therapy sessions featuring other shifters (I'm sure from other books) and the small glimpses into their lives.

I would recommend this book to people who like this genre. Can't wait to read more of the people and shifters in this world. Another ARC from my job and it in no way sways my review.

This series is like my favorite TV series, X-Files. Every book is it's own story but throughout the series there is an ongoing conspiracy they are trying to unravel. Each book just makes this series better and better.

Her Fierce Warrior tells the story of Minka who we've had brief glimpses of in a previous book as well as A-Team Angelo. Plus, a twist towards the end with a few characters.

Love this series!
