This was a heartwarming, short read, with a little steam.
Honestly I usually skip over novellas that are part of series. I just don’t usually care enough to take the time to read them.
This time I was just curious enough about whats been going on with Logan and Bella that I made myself take the time.
And I’m glad I did.
I definitely feel like it was integral to not only Logan and Bella’s story but it really sets up the beginning of Jake and Grace’s story.
There was moments of sorrow. Definitely, if you’re in any way sensitive to the topic of miscarriage, check trigger warnings and be cautious goin in, or maybe skip if you just aren’t there yet.
But then there was passion. And joy. And relief.
So sweet.
I’m glad I took the couple hours to read it.

I'm a firm believer that some books are meant to be read at a specific time and point of your life. That's when they leave a long-lasting impression. Defy came to me when I needed it the most, and made me appreciate current experiences, regardless of how emotionally draining they are: creating a family, spending countless hours in NICU and struggling to find a place as a parent.
Defy is the fourth book in the Kings of Retribution MC series by sisters and writing partners Sandy Alvarez and Crystal Daniels. It is the follow-up of Bella and Logan story, which started the whole series in Undaunted. They are struggling to start a family, and this novella allows us to see another side of their amazing relationship. We also get glimpses and clues on other couples like Jake and Grace, Quinn, and Emerson, which I'm sure will get their own books.
Chapeau to this writing duo who keeps delivering compelling stories with strong and unforgettable characters.

Out of the entire series Logan and Bella are my favorite couple and I was so happy to read more of them.
This novella shows a personal struggle for both which is heartbreaking but it also shows that their love is still going strong. Logan is still his alpha self and Bella is still his ride or die. She’s the baddest out of all the females in this series. These two still only have eyes for each other and Logan will do anything to give her the world.
Not to give away the novella away but there’s a bittersweet moment and then a very joyous moment. I love these two and can’t wait to read more on them in the other books. There story isn’t over, 😊

This was my favorite yet. I appreciated the detail towards the volunteer work. I also liked getting more insight into Logan and Bella and their struggles. And this book had some hotter than hot scenes.

From the first chapters I knew this one was going to be good. The struggle Logan and Bella were going through with having a baby broke my heart. I have people close to me who went through the same struggle and it broke my heart. To see Bella and Logan support each other and also getting support from their loved ones filled my heart with so much happiness. So happy with how this one ended.

Loving this series, Defy is a Novella and we go back to the couple Bella and Logan from book one. I loved this novella, it didn’t feel too short and was more like a full story as lots going on. What I like about these books is the author has created a family/bond between all the brothers and the hero and heroine, love the family feel in all the books and how protective the brothers are. My only peev/dislike is when one of the brothers calls his partner “my woman” but I change that when reading in my head to the name of the character or say “wife” in my head, if they are married, it’s my pet dislike and not a reflection on the author at all, as I really love this series. So glad to see Demetri, Logan’s dad gets a book too which will be about the mafia. Straight onto book five,Jake and Grace’s book.
