This book was a delightfully unexpected surprise! :-) When a package of stickers and a Halloween costume arrives for your children and inside you find a note with a book handpicked just for you from your very favorite 9 year old in the entire world, what do you? You drop everything and read it, of course! :-D

I really did enjoy this book. It's written in a wildly quirky style that while incredibly appealing is also a bit hard to understand... I am not sure how much is real and how much is that made up tongue-in-cheek writing style. Having never read anything even remotely like this I now have to do more research on the great state of Maine! LOL!

The author is a comic book writing and thus the book is filled with zany illustrations! My 8 year old immediately tried to steal the book and my 12 year old stood waiting in the wings to steal it from the 8 year old! Obviously this appeals to children! :-)

Having devoured it in an hour or so - and I might make mention here that I passed ALL of the tests with 100% success thereby garnering permission to move to Maine and NOT look so much like a "flatlander" - I can happily release this book to my offspring and get their opinions on it.

That wee boy sure knows how to win my heart... books on Maine... oh how I love him! :-)
