Lost the thread of this series in the long wait for this book, and probably never would have read it if a friend of mine hadn't basically forced it on me. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, but I just wasn't interested. I almost felt too old for it, even though I usually love reading young adult books.

Don't like this as much as either of the first books--there's too much switching between characters and scenes of action, and I hate that. You need to have at least a couple chapters worth of story about each group before you move on!

Some of the plot points here felt almost entirely unecessary in the grand scheme of things (did the dad need an entire PoV and world-hopping journey? considering it resolved nothing in the end?) but the lore-building and continued expansion of the world of Luster just has me in its grip. Let the Last Hunt begin!

This series is very corny and plays into tropes, but for some reason I still quite enjoy it. It is the third installment of a series I began when I was pretty young, and I need to finish it! Just one more book left in the series . . . I hope to read it soon!

I didn't want it to end. Good thing there's another book after this. Minus Beloved continuing to be a flat character, depth is added to everyone else in an appropriate way for a younger audience.

I liked the difference in the POV from the previous books by switching characters. But where was Lightfoot? And leaving me hanging after Finder was killed? That was a lot.

Having finished the second book (for the first time) when I was about 10, and waiting this long to read the third--at 32 (despite having bought it years and years ago), I'm overjoyed with the result. Overall, it's a much deeper and darker novel than the first two and really gives life to the world of Luster in a special way.

I enjoyed the plot and the different points of view of the characters. I know the series is getting more 'violent' for a children's series. . . I still loved it. I cannot wait to start the fin al hunt. I had to find an audio book due to the series being out of print.
