I really wanted to love this book, and I was so excited to read the second volume of the Sandsea Trilogy, but it really lagged until the last one hundred pages. I am hoping the last book (whenever it comes out) is much more engaging.

A very solid entry into this trilogy.
It ends on a cliffhanger and I’m excited to read the last book when it comes out!

The Ashfire King is an enjoyable sequel to The Stardust Thief. The tale continues with the characters from the first book. It is a tale of Djinn and magic with many surprises along the way. The writing is light, making it a fast read despite being over 500 pages.

im quickly realizing that the only character I care about at all is qadir and he hasn't shown up yet at all and it doesn't look like he will anytime soon so I am too bored and don't care enough to continue. aisha is annoying, and mazen and louilie have absolutely zero personality. booo
