Like the previous book, the story has rich Arabic fantasy, the jinns & ifrits, their world and the relic thing and the bunch of nice characters... I mean, almost similar to 1001 Nights but slightly unique and more adventurous.

If you'd asked me what I loved the most, it's definitely the world-building and the storytelling. The political setting is very suspenseful and dreadful with lust for power, revenge, and old grudges.

Next, the characters are interesting, similar to the first book and this time a vengeful queen and ifrit. With shifting loyalties though...

Mazen and Aisha especially had a lot of character development, but I loved Mazen's. He became more daring and wise, and yes, the development of his relationship with Loulie.

“𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒅𝒐 𝒊𝒕 𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒃𝒆𝒂𝒕,” 𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒂𝒊𝒅.

Mazen this time tried to be a knight although a little inconvenient sometimes but still perfect. It was nice to see how Loulie also started opening up to him and counting on him. I missed Qadir's presence, but Mazen tried to be a dependable guy this time, protecting Loulie.

The only thing I didn't like is the unnecessary scenes and chapters. There was something exciting happening in one chapter and then it's followed by a boring chapter. But I will give one credit: the story was engaging and indulging and I didn't want to leave it it had me hooked despite it's length issue.

The ending was perfect, no doubt. Can't wait to see how everything concludes in the third book
