I will never tire of the "Confessions of a Justified Sinner" manoeuvre, where Narrator A says "Here is my account, I was misunderstood in life, but this is evidence that I believed what I did was right." and Narrator B says "yeah this creep showed up and ruined our lives." Stomach-churningly compelling.

3 stars because it was well written and compelling, but this was just too body-horror-y a book for me. I finished it because I wanted to know what happened, but it was over the line of what I find enjoyable horror. If you like Matthew Lewis's The Monk, you might like this, but it's not for me.
