A well written bad story. But that's what I get for trusting the overhyped side of BookTok.
It's fast paced and well written so it was a quick and entertaining read but both Alex and Ava made me want to puke. Their love story doesn't have as much love as it does possessiveness and abuse. By the end of it, I was rooting against Alex. At times the plot twists were a little too twisted but at least the book lived up to its name.

I didn't particularly care for the actual plotline of the book, the whole Alex seeking revenge stuff. So for that reason I was just here for the smut which was pretty good

I gave in to the hype. What can I say, Iโm trying to read more genres. There is practically a cult following for this series sooo letโs quickly get this out the way โ Alex was a WALKING red flag + a jealous narcissist with a stalking tendency, plain and simple. His possessiveness made me literally cringe and the โsunshineโ grated on me. Idc reading about vile men in thrillers/horror/suspense but in โromanceโ? Not my vibe.
If youโre still reading at this point ๐๐ผ I liked the plot, and the fact it was packed with suspense and action and crazy plot twists, which added some depth to the romance. I adored Ava. She was strong, sweet, and undeserving of all the sh*t that happened to her. I could feel her cheerful personality throughout the book and I was willing her not to give in to Alex in the ending chapters. Some of the words that left Alexโs mouth were sweet, even if his behaviours werenโt. Both Ava and Alexโs childhood traumas were intriguing and unexpected and I enjoyed learning more about their pasts.

Alex was narrated in the deepest, lowest voice I think Iโve ever heard which (Iโm sorry) just made everything sound so creepy. Have I downloaded the rest of the series to listen to? Of course I have โ Iโve seen a tonne of people say this was their least favourite out of the four books so i want to see how TWISTED GAMES fares.

I LOVED THIS BOOK SO MUCH!!
I loved the mix of crime and romance it made the book so much more intriguing to read because there was that element of suspense and wanting to figure out what is actually going on. Compared to the classic romance book.
I loved the relationship between Ava and Alex and I loved how it was so fast paced and the โbut I canโt be with her tropeโ was not longed out.
I also loved the epilogue because it wasnโt the classic โIโm pregnantโ or โIโm getting married todayโ epilogue.
I know a lot of people do not like how protective Alex is, and I would definitely say he is very very protective but it didnโt bother me that much, but something to consider before reading.
The only two things that bought this book down to a 4 star; was that I felt the whole situation with Avaโs dad and the lake was not necessary needed I felt the second plot twist kind of solved everything for me.
Another thing I wish we got was more of the showing not just telling, we were told that Alex and Ava went on there first proper date but we wasnโt shown it, and that is something I wish we did see more of.
But other then that I am definitely going to continue the rest of the series, I heard that twisted games is a lot of peoples favourite!!!!
