A great read and ending of Ruby and James' love story. It's well-written and it wraps up everything beautifully. As book 2, there are multiple POVs: Ruby, James, Ember, Lydia and then Graham and Alastair. Lydia was one of my favorite characters.

There is a lot more character development for side characters here and they are highlighted a lot more, and going through their own issues. But some of the side stories felt like they were there to add filler and I found myself not caring too much about a lot of them.
This is a very easy read with simple writing, but something about it is addicting, it's apparent why this book series is now adapted into a tv show, it reads perfectly for a teen drama.
Man, everyone is way too forgiving, or am I just petty? Because I would be holding a grudge way longer, and I'm not talking about just one character, I mean multiple. I'm pretty certain no one here would have earned my forgiveness besides James, and maybe that just means I'm a bad person.
I really love James here, his maturity is evident, he's really grown into himself, and he seems so genuine. The author was great at making me hate Mr. Beaufort. And Ruby remained to be just as likeable as the previous two books.
Toward the end I found myself getting really frustrated with the conversations and choices these characters were making.
For some reason I was under the impression that Ember was Ruby's little sister all of book two and majority of this book, but even with her being older than Ruby I still have major ick with her and Wren. There is probably no amount of redemption you could have written for me to like Wren, he drugged Ruby and then kissed her, and then went after her sister. And Wren saying "I truly thought that was in the past" when referring to trying to take advantage of drunk Ruby is actually disgusting
