i was very disappointed to read one of the essays, the one by Mitchell S. Jackson, because it was very homotransphobic. my skin crawled when I read the footnotes where he specified that the father and mother kids need have to be "cis male and female". left me extremely uncomfortable and i expected better from Jesmyn Ward than publishing that essay.
