The Revenge Agenda

4.13 AVERAGE

Rush and Hunter were such an adorable pair matched in the worst of ways. After trying to surprise his boyfriend for their anniversary, Rush finds out he's actually engaged to Hunter and he'd been cheating on both of them! Rush is left feeling embarrassed and of all people, Hunter is the one consoling him. After some time has passed they come into each other's lives again and sparks fly. They developed an odd friendship that had me smiling from the very beginning. Both men had their insecurities and they actually helped the other get past them through support and a mutual want for revenge. I loved how neither tried to change the other, just accepted their "quirks" as who they are and fell for each other. And they were ALWAYS defending and standing up for each other.

Rush is the sweetest man ever, but I couldn’t help but chuckle every time someone referred to him as Carey as that name just doesn’t suit him. When he discovers his boyfriend is cheating on him and learns that he in fact was the side piece, he’s upset but more focused on how kind Hunter was to him in the situation. When Hunter shows up as his new boss and is clearly distraught over the situation, Rush sends him an email with a list of reasons not to quit. Literal sweetheart.

Reasons I Recommend:

1) Hunter’s innate kindness and poor self-esteem because of the dick that is Ian and how he might barge in ready to take names, he’s willing to listen and to learn.

2) Xander honestly gets sweeter with every book and I love his protectiveness over his friends. I also loved seeing not only Seven back Hunter up, but Molly being so intricate in Bertha and

3) Hunter’s fierce protective nature over Rush and him being mistreated. When he finds out Rush’s reasoning and concern during intimacy, I wanted to hug him.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

PS — Ted deserves more praise. The man flat out has Rush’s back and I am here for it!

Q1: I’m so damn excited that I get to introduce you to them as mine. I’m not sure what I did to deserve you, but it still hits me sometimes. This deep gratefulness that I get to call you mine.”
“Thank you.”
“For what?”
“Loving me as I am.”
I drop a kiss on his forehead. “It’s the exact same way you love me.”

Q2: “Let me be clearer. All those things about you that you think are too much are the things I love most. I’m sure we’ll get frustrated with each other because it’s what all couples do, but one of the most refreshing things about you is that you talk about things. You don’t play games. And you expect the same from me. There’s still a lot we both have to learn about each other, but goddammit, Rush, I’m excited to learn those things. Nothing in my life has ever felt this right.”

Very good book, I like the character depth, and this depiction of ADHD is really well done. I love that he has support in his life. These two work well together. I enjoyed the whole book, but I'm not "in love" with the book. It's fun, but not likely to be a favourite.

This was a really cute, fun read! I followed along easily even though I didn’t read book 2. Rush and Hunter are so adorable!
