I adored this book, I was drawn in to each of the viewpoints. I couldn’t put it down. The book follows 3 women, 2 young women and a nurse in the Nazi Lebensborn program. It was fascinating to learn about the program. My only disappointment is that the book ends so abruptly. I was left not knowing how things ended with so many characters I had become attached to.

I read a lot of books from this time period and it amazes me that I continue to discover ones that teach me even more. I loved that this book had three different women and shared information on their roles in the breeding the Aryan race. I couldn’t put this one down because I needed to know what was going to happen, and I read most of the book in one day. The fact that these homes really existed and were accepted is just another shocking aspect of Hitler and WWII. Thank you to the author for a great read! I would have loved an epilogue so we know what happens, but I guess that isn’t reality for this time period.

Perhaps for those who had limited knowledge of the Lebensborn program this book was enlightening. Creating three separate stories that ultimately joined up was a good way to explain the horrors of this. However the stories were strained to me. And I found the ending abrupt.
