A perfect little story. I will look for Ms. Haien's other book. Too bad that only two of her books were published. Maybe her relatives will discover a trunk full of treasures.

I don't know, maybe it's because I've seen so many movies/TV shows that have the exact same twist, but this underwhelmed me. It's nowhere near as captivating as Ethan Frome, and I kind of expected it to be similar... In any case, quick read (only took me a couple of hours), decent story. I wouldn't call it a must-read, though.

This little gem of a book was just the thing I needed to read this week. This gentle story of healing, friendship, & love, is told with warmth and honesty. Father Declan and Edna are characters I will not forget.
