The Lady Diviner series is a historical mystery series with a paranormal twist and is Rosalie Oaks's debut series. The books are fun and whimsical with a mix of romance, danger, and the supernatural. I highly recommend this series if you enjoy cozy mysteries. Before reading this boxset, I would recommend reading the prequel novella, A Pendant for Trouble as it really sets the scene for where book one starts and provides the backstory for how Elinor finds herself in Devon and at odds with Beresford.

The Lady Jewel Diviner

5 stars.

The Lady Jewel Diviner is the first book in Rosalie Oaks' debut series and is a historical mystery with a paranormal twist.

Although this is the first book in the series, I would highly recommend reading the prequel novella first as it details Elinor's ability to sense nearby jewels and the events leading up to where this book kicks off. Elinor and her family have removed to Devon in disgrace and Elinor is now at odds with the Earl of Beresford.

I love Elinor, she is quirky and amusing and takes everything going on around her with aplomb. I love the dynamic between Elinor and Beresford. He's very haughty and overbearing in this book and Elinor is having none of it. And when they're not at odds they are teasing and bickering. I adore them. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of the book, there was a good sense of danger and humor throughout. Reading the prequel, my hope was that the paranormal aspect of this series would be expanded upon and the author did not disappoint, but I don't want to give anything away so I'll stop there.

The Moira Pearls

4.5 stars, rounded up to 5 stars.

The Moria Pearls is the second book in Rosalie Oaks' debut Lady Diviner series, which is a cozy mystery series with a paranormal spin.

Back for the second book and a new mystery, Elinor is working to hone her abilities in order to help her vampiri companion, Miss Zooth, to find the Moria pearls. Tensions were up in this book between all of the characters, making the dynamics of this mystery quite different from the last.

I seriously adore Elinor, she's quirky and witty and certainly not afraid to embarrass herself or step into danger. Beresford needs to learn though that she is not one to be bossed around. I think he's starting to realize that though and hopefully he'll learn to be a bit less overbearing. But somehow being overbearing is also part of his charm, so he gets away with it.

There's a bit of a cliffhanger twist at the end, which opens the way for the next book in the series, The Sapphire Library. But I don't want to give anything away, so I won't go any further. I will say though that the mystery in this book was unique from the first the series while still having a healthy dose of danger that I greatly enjoyed.

The Sapphire Library

5 stars.

This book takes us to London in persuit of the Moria Pearls and it is Elinor's first introduction back with the ton since fleeing London in disgrace with her family. But she's coming back to town fully armed with a team of powerful people to surround her and ensure her success.

There are many changes and surprises over the course of this book, and it ends in such an intriguing way. I am incredibly curious to see how this will affect the series going forward. I probably shouldn't say any more though, I don't want to risk any spoilers.

More than anything else though, I am so happy that this is not to be the last book in the series.
