Book of essays by prize-winning Washington Post reporter. Really good writing. Highly recommended.

Read this too long ago. I remember loving it, and I'm not sure where my copy is, so now I'm tempted to buy and be able to re-read...

Brilliantly written with humor, candor, and pathos, with The Fiddler in the Subway Washington Post feature writer Gene Weingarten illuminates topics as diverse as faith (Tears for Audrey), xenophobia and fear (Fear Itself), parenting (You go, Girl), beauty (The Fiddler in the Subway) and tragedy (Fatal Distraction) through stories so intricately phrased and beautifully constructed it seems impossible they could draw from the real world. An excellent and varied, lovely and amazing read.
