What a fun, fast read! The perfect novel to take your mind off things and dive into another world. And Becky is a super relatable character:

DID NOT FINISH

I can't. Haven't picked this book up in months and every time I think about going to, I always talk myself out of it because I hate the main character so much. I don't think this is for me. I tried.

Rebecca me fait penser à Elle Woods dans Blonde et légale... un peu nunuche... L’histoire est divertissante, sans plus. Un genre de mélange entre Bridget Jones et Legally Blonde. Je vais quand même continuer la série un jour !

STOPP I WAS SUPPOSED TO SLEEEEPPP

anyways . 3.5 just bc of how much secondhand embarrassment becca gave me but she is a v fun narrator to read to

the movie and book is rly different v interesting . . . . onto the second book ig

Maybe more like a 3.5, it was pretty much what I expected, the main character digging herself into a hole was just a tad too long, a little too painful. But I liked the dialogue and liked the moment when she starts to turn things around.

early y2k books never disappoint

I needed a fluffy read during a stressful time of the year and this fit the bill perfectly. The style reminded me a lot of Bridget Jones and I thoroughly enjoyed how much laughter the book drew out of me. Perfect prescription for stress relief.

When I started this book, I kind of hated it. But, it was the only thing I had brought to the lake and so I trudged on through the itemized lists and compulsive shopping. And what do you know, Becky grew on me. Once she matured a bit I actually found myself relating to her in small ways.

All in all this isn't a groundbreaking work of fiction but I don't regret picking up 2 more in the series at Goodwill. They'll be nice beach reads.

We all know that shopping can be a most excellent escape and therapy. In the Shopaholic books, Becky Bloomwood takes it to an extreme. Too bad all of us can't run up huge debt and then get bailed out by a fab new job and millionaire boyfriend....

Oh well, one can pretend by reading..... this is a fun, very light read!
