I listened to this for free on my Audible subscription and I really enjoyed it! All three books are a great listen. The storyline is captivating, the plot is exciting, the spice is spicy, and the characters are lovable, funny, and frustrating lol. It's a fantastic read overall.

This could be my favourite Jennifer L Armentrout series to date! Everything I loved about the previous books is here, and then some. The action, drama, twists, and romance make for an incredible reading experience, and one that boils down to simple, enticing fun.

Ivy's arc goes to a dark place in the beginning, and I actually really liked watching her struggle with her Fae side. I understood her anxieties and fears, though it pained me to see her go through them alone. This created some harrowing moments and led to drama with Ren and Tink. Both of those characters also had great development. Ren worked to become more understanding and Tink developed into his own, rambunctious self.

The story took on a bunch of different plot lines, but they all led to great moments. Plot points were wrapped up and the characters moved onto a new danger and adventure. This also meant there were great twists and surprises waiting for them, and I was genuinely shocked at some of the revelations. Though I wish we lingered on one, since it kind of made the ending feel rushed and convenient.

As for the romance, it remained steamy and packed with chemistry. I really liked the direction Ivy and Ren went, and they are one of my favourite JLA couples.

This series is everything I expect in a JLA book: Simple and pure fun. This is what I read to relax and escape, and it's fun, spunky characters, action, and solid prose provide that in spades. I had a great time reading this book and recommend it to all readers of JLA, new, or old, and to lovers of paranormal/urban fantasy romance. Get it today!

The trauma healing journey is one of my favorite plot devices, but it kind of got abandoned after the main couple got back together. The love interest didn't seem to have much autonomy apart from the FMC. This kind of read like a fanfic. But it was still enjoyable. The plot twists were nice but recognizable a mile away. The romance was sweet. The characters had some depth. Overall, not bad.

I called this a DNF at 92%.
I could barely finish this book. I thought the first and second books were alright, so I thought this last one would finish strong as the last book in the trilogy. I was wrong. My biggest issue: nothing happened!!! Ivy's personal, dragged-out drama with Ren took up literally 60% of the book. Some events were mildly interesting enough to keep me reading, but it all went downhill. I could not care less about what happens. I am really let down with myself that I couldn't even bring myself to skim the last few chapters; I know I could've finished it if I wanted to, but I was so bored... I had no resolve to do so.

If there’s one thing this series taught me, it’s that I am a completionist when it only costs me time. Aside from that journey of self-discovery, I didn’t really appreciate much about this book. I just wanted to hear how the author ended the story and kept hoping it would get better and be worth it. It didn’t.
