1 Million stars for him solving all these cases.
It is a mixed read, because I was not interested in his life (no spoiler, see title: big part of this narrative) and his unability to be a good husband and father. These parts really were a downside; did not feel empathy for him and well why did he choose to have 4 children when he spends so few time with them? But well I understand why his private life is part of the story. Sometimes I couldn't follow all scientific background, maybe because I am no native speaker.

But - besides the amazing true story - its a pageturner and haunted my dreams.

DID NOT FINISH: 59%

There was something about Holes' delivery that was annoying me. There was stuff in there about his personal life that I wasn't really interested in. May finish later, but it wasn't right for the roadtrip I was taking while listening to this.

Good memoir and let me learn a lot about the different parts of investigation. Great to have Holes narrate the audiobook. Overall, good, solid read!

The title shouldn’t use “cases” because he focuses on GSK.

An intriguing look into the every day life of solving cold case files. So many interesting cases as well as engaging and personal details of the burden and toll
It can take on those who work to solve them. I listened to the audio book version and was not disappointed. Recommend!
