blown away by how much i actually liked this??
everything i wanted in a romance, with none (or at least very little) of the cringey stuff
i will say that some parts of this book were hard to read, as both characters struggle with mental illnesses. depression, panic attacks, anxiety, and especially ocd are described in pretty graphic detail, but i think all of that was handled extremely well. if you are looking for a romance with mental health rep, read this! however, as someone who struggles with the same mental illnesses, i found certain scenes to be a bit triggering, and the first part of the book definitely put me in a weird headspace. at the same time, reading about the way dev and charlie were there for each other through everything, even the times when their mental health was suffering, was extremely healing and comforting. representation is so important!! and this for me was definitely very positive ocd rep :)

Very sweet exploration of falling in love while dealing with mental struggles. The mental illness aspect was handled really nicely and the relationship was believable. Both main characters seemed to have each others best interests in mind. It was pretty hot without being explicit.

Ok I was a little behind on getting to this but as soon as I started, I could. not. put. it. down. A gay romcom that focuses on mental health, self care and healthy relationship dynamics? Yes, please. Also, reading books with non-binary characters who just exist as whole people with their gender not being the focus of their story is extremely validating. I love when romance books like this stay in their lane and find expansive routes to show realistic love. I also really appreciate when writers don’t try to make their books something they’re not; using flowery or monotonous writing in effort to try to expand beyond the romance categorization. These books are enjoyable to read! And this one was no exception. More of this, please!

I am obsessed! Inject this in my bloodstream! Take me back to my badly concealed breakdown on a plane!

Charlie is my absolute love; I want to hug him so bad. Luckily Dev is there to do it for me.

I adore Charlie's journey to self-acceptance and love. I adore Dev's journey to accepting he needs self-healing. I love how all both of them ever wanted was for someone to see them and stay, and both of them got that.
