I love these books!! I really love the dry humour, and how the moments of action are balanced out with Murderbot's thoughts and exploration of personhood. I love how Murderbot keeps (only somewhat reluctantly) adopting the various humans that need its help, soon enough it'll have an entire army of human friends

I also particularly enjoyed the friendship between Murderbot and ART - I'm really hoping that ART shows up again in future books! Also the narration by Kevin R. Free continues to be top tier

On my journey to reread the series since I haven’t read the latest installments and wanted to refresh myself on everything.  This one was used to develop more background and history of Murderbot, as well as introducing a new bff, more friendly humans that produce emotions, and also some insight into different constructs.  It felt more like a bridge for what comes next since it was setting up quite a bit.  Still an enjoyable romp.

Really liking this series thus far. If you’re a fan of short sci-fi books that have an awkward and anti social robot as the main character, you’ll like this.

This book starts right where the first one finishes. And like the first one it continues with great world building and (background) diversity.
Seeing Murderbot being free for the first time and figuring out what to do and what it wants, was cool.  The reluctant friendship it has with ART was just amazing. ART being so bored at its job, that it decides to help a dangerous stranger is just amazing. In general, this book/series is so good in developing its non-human people and how they see themselves in regard to others and how they interact with each other.
It is also kinda funny to see how Murderbot feels awkward and unsure, but somehow all people it works with so far, really like and appreciate it. Murderbot continues being a relatable character.

This series is delightful. Buddying Murderbot up with a sassy and sarcastic transport ship was brilliant. I enjoyed how their interactions contrasted how two non-human beings might relate, as opposed to how humans relate to robots, AI, constructs, and each other. Clever and humorous, an excellent second installment to the Muderbot Diaries.
