This was an accidental reread of a book that I read sometime between 2014 and the end of 2016. I purchased this paperback at a clearance sale thinking it was a romantic suspense novel. It definitely wasn't that. There was some romance and there were two action scenes. The rest is relationship related and steamy scenes.

This is an obvious case of the wrong reader for the book. It is reasonably well-written, but I was expecting more of a action thriller with some romance. Unfortunately, that was not the case. if you enjoy erotica, then this may be one you want to check out.

The Professional by Kresley Cole was an interesting but good read. I wasn't sure what I was expecting when I picked the book up, but I was not disappointed.

There were parts in the book that I felt needed to be longer, such as the main characters first meeting. I felt that perhaps there should have been more of a dialog and fight when the Siberian was trying to take her to Russia. I also found at times that their relationship boarded on abusive. I understand that this book is based on a BDSM style relationship, but in some cases I felt that he was emotionally hurting her to an extreme. I was happy that by the end of the book they managed to settle their issues and create something good for themselves.

I did cry. As an emotional reader I did cry, Cole did an amazing job at making me (the reader) become attached to her characters--even the side ones. When her biological father passed I had to put the book down to stop myself from crying on it.

Over all, I did enjoy this book and I am excited to read the next.
