The start felt a lot like IAD, but it became more unique after they left America. Good read as usual.

I must say I expect much since author is Kresley Cole. IAD is one of my favorite series of all time. However, this book didn't turn out well for me. Half of the novel gave me an impression that this book was going to be great. Chemistry and tension between this couple just blowed!! Hot Hot Hot. After her dad's gone, everything seemed very wrong. I was like, 'Seriously?!'. Sevastian's secretive behavior was annoying. His possession towards Natalie was also selfish. I hate hate hate when hero thought he's bad and didn't deserved heroine but needed to keep her by his side. WTH, man! His confession was hugh but that didn't wash out his craveman's bahavior. I'm so sorry. I just can't tolerate character like this.

Hope the sequence is better!

POV: Single point of view from Natalie
Tropes: Mafia, Bodyguard
Natalie (h): Natalie is 24 year old college student looking to find her biological father. She's smart, sassy, has a dry sense of humor, but definitely is a little bit of a commitment-phobe.
Sevastyan (H): Sevastyan is a 31 year old enforcer for Natalie's biological father, as well as her new bodyguard. He takes Natalie to meet her father, and feels conflicted about his feelings for Natalie. He also struggles to open up about his past or really anything that he does, which becomes a major point of contention between Natalie and himself, though a lot of the time he's a little too dense to realize she's upset about his lack of communication.
Final Thoughts: While there is a lot of action in this book, there's also a heavy focus on BDSM, and it does escalate pretty dramatically from the beginning of the story to the end. The H's interest in BDSM and where it originates is explained in the last 2% of the book, which I did think made sense and brought it all together. What brought this down for me was that all conflict between the H and h was wrapped up in just one conversation at the very end of the book, which made the other 98% of the book a bit more difficult to read. I don't like spending a majority of books frustrated with the main characters, but I was frustrated with them often here because of miscommunication, uncertainties, etc that really didn't need to happen.
