Brilliant from start to finish. Absolutely loved the historical and intertextual literary references and/or allusions. A novel that makes you want to know yourself and the universe.

I love this experimental and eccentric work. The writing is gorgeous, magical even, but it is also chaotic. Winterson's non-linear, ambiguous narrative which beautifully blurs the line between the world and the mind, the past and the future, fascinates the reader into falling into the world of the story for long stretches of time.

Utterly bizarre and confusing but an absolute thrill ride the whole time. No idea what was happening but that's the fun. I especially enjoyed the stories of the twelve princesses - let's hear more.
