This book was a conflicting read.
Parts I really liked. But there were parts where I just didn’t want to continue the book.
The smut was pretty dang good, not crazily long or descriptive all the time but it was good smut.
There’s two main things that bugged me about this book, one of them being so minor it’s kinda silly.
1. Finn calls Avery Queen a total of 40 times. Queen is such an odd nickname to me and he used it soooo much. (I was tracking the amount of time he said it by tallying like it was a game.)
2. (This is the biggest issue) I get that this is a plus size story, that’s absolutely fine. But of fucking course the plus size girl doesn’t feel confident and gets called names cause obviously big girls can’t love themselves right?! (Sarcasm) it’s just frustrating the first book that I’ve read that the fmc isn’t a skinny goddess she’s RIDDLED with insecurity. Such bad insecurity that she doesn’t get her confidence until like the last 10 pages of the book! It was maddening to read. Like this Greek god of a man is DROOLING over her, is making her feel like ROYALTY, and openly admitting he REALLY LIKES her. And then she goes “he’s definitely too out of my league no way he can like me” like it was so infuriating. And not only that we don’t even know if she’s just slightly a curvier girl or actually plus size but my hunch is only curvier cause she corrects herself from saying little black dress to MEDIUM black dress. Which is fucking WILD to be like oh I’m so fat, people call me piggy n shit and you’re just medium?!
I can understand that this book was to boost confidence but it was done in such a gross typical way of portraying plus size as a terribly insecure, messy, junk eating mass it was hard to keep reading.
I did like the end. I did enjoy the way the book flowed.
If I blanked out and didn’t think about it much it was a good read.

The way Finn Harvey was absolutely obssessed with Avery! It was delicious in every aspect!
I love that they had real deep issues they both had to work on and even tho they were being cautious they still do give themselves a chance.

I could relate with Avery on so many level with her body image insecurities and her aversion with taking pictures... My heart broke a little to be honest when she didn't want Finn to look at her different. And Finn? Having endured such a horrible relationship and being weary of women in general? When he's really just a great guy needing a great girl?

I love everything this book represents.

BTW, the spice? THROUGH THE FUCKING ROOOF!!!!!!!!!! That mouth on Finn! OMG, I was just on the floor everytime this man opened his freaking mouth.

Overall I enjoyed this book and the dynamic between the main characters. I was aware that this book would contain a lot of smut as sex was a starter of their relationship. I do wish there were a bit more scenes without the physical aspect. Their relationship was really sweet and beautiful but I did miss a bit more of those mundane relationship things.
Honestly didn't care for any other character. All of these exes were disgusting and that fmm bff was from the start really manipulative and evil. Her crying how she doesn't deserve Avery was a red flag.

I wanted to like the book truly I did… but atleast it brought me out of my reading slump. Honestly Avery was just very annoying and at time insufferable. I wanted Finn to be with absoultley anybody chile. By the end I was just hoping they already went they seperate ways. I mean the end was enjoyable and there as a lil plot twist. Overall tho I suffered to not DNF it multiple times.
