Just couldn't get into it,though the topic had sounded intriguing.

 Boring; annoying characters

If I did half stars it would be a 4.5.

A very dense, four-month journey that started agonizingly slow, but eventually blossomed into a brilliant historical fiction intertwining narratives over two time periods, whose deep and genuine characters carried a philosophically-rich story.

I was deeply moved by this book. It was a complex portrayal of faith, life, and friendship. Throughout the story I found myself pausing to take in the significance of what the author was saying.

While the story moved well and was quite beautiful it was not told in a manner that was effortless to read. I found myself laboring through the intricate style of writing albeit it was a labor of love.

This is a story I truly believe will take more than one read to fully appreciate. I deeply recommend it to anyone who loves an in depth picture into history
