This book was so boring but what’s worse is the descriptions of a special needs character! “The smile made you realize how handsome he’d have been if he were born a little smarter.” WHATTT?? How was that published?

It should have been DNF but I did push through til the end. It covered the mundane simplicities of small town life but in the most boring way possible. There was no plot. I did chuckle as some of the snarky commentary but that seemed rather unrealistic.

Katherine Heiny is just so brilliant at characters, and their relationships. This is not a dramatic page turner but who cares when the characters are so fantastically drawn and so unusual. I loved this, just as I loved Standard Deviation
