Vlad the Impaler or Vladislav Dracula as he was called back in the day, was known as a brutal ruler and said to be a vampire. But vampires aren’t real, right?

Adam and his crew are back at it again, this time to Romania to check out Poenari Castle, also known as Castle Dracula. A professor who is friends with Charles found papers that were said to be owned by a scholar who disappeared after investigating the castle in 1967. The British Museum crew are told to go with the professor to protect her while she looks for hidden secrets. A goblet with a dragon on it is found and that's when all hell breaks loose. They are being hunted by Winterbourne, the military and now vampires!? One by one they are turned except for Adam and it is once again up to him to save his team. Can he do it all alone?

Meanwhile we get a glimpse into Vlad's past and how he became the ruthless man he is known to be.

This is the 4th installment of the ‘Relic Hunters’ series and so far, it’s my favourite. I love stories of vampires and shifters and anything fantasy so I was excited to have that as the main theme this time around. Martin Ferguson has a way with words and will make you invested in all the characters right from the get go. Time to read book 5!

Blood of the Dragon is the 4th book in the Relic Hunters series and does not disappoint! Such an incredible retelling of Dracula. I am completely fascinated by that tale and I love the unique storytelling abilities provided by the author here! There were Easter eggs in the previous book that alluded to a future vampire tale, and I'm so glad the story was brought to life sooner than I had expected! Such a unique retelling from Vlad's youth and the backstory on how the monster came to be. I really loved that aspect!

That combined with Adam and Matt fighting the present day Dracula just added a whole other element of intrigue and suspense. Loved it, definitely recommend!

What an incredible addition to an already amazing series! This is the fourth book in the Relic Hunters series, and I think this may be my favorite so far. The author shows they have no shortage of ideas and expertly crafts another fast-paced history mixed with legend and fiction read. Adam and his group are in Romania responding to a plea for help, but is it all a trap? They find that they are being hunted and danger, mystery, and suspense ensue. Will they be able to make it through unharmed or is this their last adventure-filled journey together? The one and only thing I could possibly utter a complaint about is that my real-life responsibilities are suffering as I can’t put this book down! Once I pick it up, I am in a trance until I reach the end. Though this is aimed for a YA audience, I thoroughly enjoy each one and am looking forward to the next! I highly recommend this book (and the series) to anyone who enjoys history, myths, legends, and adventures!

Easily my favorite of the series, Dracula and Romanian themed stories are my favorite. Adam and Matthew their hands full on this mission. Something is taking out their team one by one. The battle against evil is on. I loved the action, the mystery and all of it. Wonderful characters that help the story feel so real. The writing is perfect. You can feel the action. Such a great series.

The Relic hunters are back and this time it is Romania. A misplaced dairy from Romania brings a group of mercenaries to England where a professor and the head of the British museum are brutally assaulted. The leader of the museum goes missing and Adam and Emma step in to solve the mystery. When the contents of the dairy are revealed, they decide to go to Romania and the castle in question, the Poenari castle, the former home of Vlad, the Impaler. They find themselves up against evil and darkness once again.
Another adventure filled with suspense, thrill and danger, this book, like its predecessors has the readers on the edge of their seats. I have really come to like Martin Ferguson; his books offer a quick and breezy respite. Keep them coming!

5 out of 5 stars

Martin Ferguson is an incredible author! He brings action, evil, drama, history, and mystery to this YA book. This book is so incredible that I think it should be made into a movie or better yet a TV show. Throughout this book, Adam and his team set out to Castle Dracula in Romania to hunt ... Vlad Dracula also known as Vlad the Impaler! To find out what happens next, get a copy of this great story!!!

These hunters are impressive with as many adventures we've accompanied them on. The historic references and battles the author and the characters bring us on, my heart is continuously pumping in and out of my chest in excitement. When the tables turn on this team, we see just how suspenseful this grips us by the hook especially when they're hot on the trail internationally. When his crew falls around him, only Adam remains but he has to decide whether only on saving himself but his friends but in a battle to survive the fight of all fights. This one was intense, daring, exciting and enjoyable.

This book starts at the ruined Poenari Castle in Romania where it is pouring with rain and cold and a small group have gotten past the local armed forces guarding it and have managed to climb the seemingly endless staircase to get to it, it is rumoured to contain the long lost treasure hoard of an infamous Prince, but when they discover a couple of old coins in the ruins as well as an old silver chalice with an unusual engraving, they are hopeful that they will find it, but that is until all the lights go out around them and they are viciously attacked.

Forty years later, a Professor and friend of the leader of the Relic Hunters of the British Museum Charles, start to receive threatening phone calls and letters and their office and house are ransacked, they decide to call Charles and ask for his help, while in a taxi on their way to the museum, they are attacked by a masked man and his mercenaries. They are nearly rammed off the road multiple times, they are peppered with gunfire and when the taxi is finally overturned and they are dragged from it with a gun pressed to their head, just in the nick of time, Adam and Emma of the hunters come to their rescue and take them to the museum after Charles received their messages for aid.

As the trio enter the museum, the Professor is astounded to see the part of the underground area of the Museum they are being led through, but are not happy when they find out that Charles isn’t there, but are happy to find out that the team will still help them. As the Professor explains what the people were after her for, it turns out that it is the diary of one of those attacked in Romania and that she bought through an auction, after it had finally been made public. As its contents are revealed and the location within it are discussed, the team come to a decision to go to the castle in question with the Professor and help them that they will set off there as soon as they are ready, but this is where the danger starts, secrets are revealed and paths cross in a most mysterious way.

This is yet another fantastic installment in the Relic Hunters series and one full of twists, turns, mysteries and action which well and truly sucks you in, but will the Hunters be able to overcome their latest adversary or will this plea for help be one they can’t fulfil?
