one of dahl’s better works.
This was my favourite Dahl book from childhood and so far remains my favourite to this day.
That being said reading it as an adult was such a dramatically different experience as it lowkey features attempted murder, damage to property, and animal abuse (all of which can be forgiven as the story is classic fantastical Dahl).

4 stars. This is a Dahl book I’d never even heard of. I’ve missed reading through his works and this was a pretty fun place to pick back up. It’s such an absurd and ridiculous read and I really enjoyed it. George’s innocence even while he’s causing chaos is funny and I thought the ending, while abrupt, was a really good way to end it. This isn’t one of my favorites but it was definitely a fun and entertaining read.

I have such a fondness for this book, my mum would read it to me over and over and every time I'd laugh at the sheep dip!
Brilliant, funny and as always, Quentin Blake's fantastic drawings add to the amusement!

While listening to this audiobook, I was genuinely curious to know if anyone had seriously made George’s despicable little concoction that almost certainly killed his grandmother and as it turns out, yeah. Some British researchers made it and said the “most likely clinical outcome is death”
