One of the best books I’ve read! My first real Dickens, other than A Christmas Carol, and it was magnificent.

Loved it. The ending made me happy. I loved it. I already said that. Oh well. So good. It was a very sweet story. A feeling narrative with intriguing characters, and lots of different story lines running at once, in and out and through each other. And Dickens' characteristic fog and gloom over the whole thing, lit with brilliant sarcastic wit.

A long book so you need to invest some time to complete it, but it combines adventure with pathos and is insightful as to the relationships we form and how they may be misguided

Haven't read Dickens in a long time and don't think I ever read this one. With an endless stream of fascinating, quirky, engaging characters (David Copperfield being the least interesting), it was the best book I've read in a long while. Such a pleasure to find an accessible, really long book that you can't put down!

Do yourself a favor and listen to the audible version narrated by Richard Armitage. It makes this book. It’s unparalleled. This book is also awesome and I loved it.

This book was very easy to get into. I really enjoyed the story and the humor and the typical Dicken's characters. And, of course, everything worked out in the end. However, it is a very long book! I would recommend it to be read when you feel like you have a long time to commit.

Dickens elegantly depicts many things in this book, most of all the protagonist. David Copperfield narrates his tale from early childhood well into adulthood, and I think that Dickens's writing does a stunning job at making the change in voice over time convincing. However, I often found myself losing focus on the story, no doubt largely because of the book's mammoth length.

Just finished reading this novel for the second time, and I still stand by what I said the first time. Reading it this second time gave me additional appreciation for the quality of the writing of Dickens and his great mastery of words and descriptions.

I must state however that the events of this story are not exactly special or exciting. If you choose to read this book do not expect action or adventure. This book is merely a fictional recollection of a life that was filled with both joy and sorrow.

This is without a doubt the best novel I have ever read. The best character growth I’ve ever seen in any book, the consistency in the quality of each and every chapter.

I will not deny that at first I was very hesitant about reading this book, 700 pages are not exactly a light read which what I felt that I needed. However, this book felt quite light, even in its darkest most ruthless and heartbreaking chapters, it somehow still felt light. As if everything was still just fine, and will be fine.

Easy 10/10 for me.
