I think I can safely say that if I hadn't listened to the wonderful narration by Richard Armitage, I might have given up on this. But he did such an excellent job, I had to keep going. The novel had the characteristic Dickens' humor, but I did not find the life of David Copperfield that interesting. I am glad I read it though, and I did enjoy it overall.

I still want to read this, as I enjoyed everything I ready but I’m not currently in the right mindspace and I don’t want readers this to start feeling like a chore.

Pretty impressed by this book. I zoned out in some parts and struggled to get back into it - some storylines seemed odd and irrelevant. Overall, I would read it again.

way better and easier to read than I expected. alternates between extremely funny and extremely sad. I really liked the moments where he spent a page describing a setting, just to set the mood of a certain scene. Sentences are obviously very long, but a lot of the time it didn't feel like Dickens was wasting words because the characterization and imagery is so strong and cohesive.
