Loved it. Raw and brutal telling of the spoils of war that include women as prizes to be raped and demeaned. It is the ugliest truth, besides the murdering of the defeated children. The Odyssey and the Iliad herald the “Heroes” but when told from a feminist POV, these men were anything but. Briseis and Helen are so often reduced to women that “caused” men to act badly… I am so excited for Pat Barkers upcoming Women Of Troy! I need more of her storytelling that infuse life into the best characters of the Iliad and the Orestea, THE WOMEN
