A Love Song for Ricki Wilde combines a magical realism romance with a love letter to Harlem. When Ricki moves to Harlem to start a plant store, she meets a mysterious man with a Forrest Gump-like knowledge of the last hundred years of music history. While I didn't get totally wrapped up in the romance, I loved the plant talk and the sections about the Harlem Renaissance. I even found myself googling the locations, music, and plants mentioned in the book. This would also be a great fit for fans of Addie Larue.
