I found the book interesting and informative, the writing engaging, but it doesn't quite live up to its title. One could sum up the book in a few sentences. (Therefore, no one can be surprised if I note the book got a bit repetitive.)

But. Since I knew very little about this period of antiquity, besides Egypt, I learned a lot, and can't sniff at that.

Will I read the sequel? Not sure at this point.

Did not enjoy the delivery. Parts were interesting and informative, but I was bored for much of the read

Good book but hard to read with so many strange and unpronounceable names of rulers and city states.  Made for really slow reading
