Wow! The series is finished!

I've let my my opinions marinate...ferment?...Pickle?
Anyways! Some quick points first: *- I much preferred this book to the second in the series (Astrid Parker); that one was just disappointing to me. *- Certain topics such as anxiety and fear around intimacy made me like this book more than I would have originally, adds another star to it! ⭐ *- More of a negative, I feel like this is the type of couple in a book that I can just imagine wont stay together for much longer after the story ends, if it was a real story.
I'm new to writing more longer reviews, so this wont be my best either. But, I cant place my finger on exactly why this is the case; I think the first book of this series is on a higher podium to the other two books. I was more invested in the characters, rooting for them more and I found them the most enjoyable. I thought "It may be because Delilah and Claire's story is in the first book, therefor been with them the longest" but when in reality I just thought the plot and the flaws of the characters intrigued me the most.

If this town was real, I'd fly there to tell all of the characters to PLEASE go for some counselling, in the nicest way possible haha.

Overall though, I've enjoyed the ride and would recommend this series to others. <3

die englische Version hätte mir wahrscheinlich deutlich besser gefallen - auf deutsch war es leider echt kein Lesevergnügen, obwohl ich es mögen wollte 🫠

This whole series was fun but the scrumptious amount of queer people in this book brought this one to the next level, plus Iris is my fav of the friend group. It was arguably the most romantic of the books, just so cute. And the smut in this book is incredible. Not for the weak of heart.

It was tough getting into it at the beginning, especially with the level of anxiety one of the characters experiences, it was written a little too well and was stressful. I wish there was a little bit more balance at the beginning and that you got to see her in more comfortable settings more often to balance out the level of anxiety in uncomfortable settings.

But I found it very worthwhile to get through the stressful parts. I also loved the dynamics explored with the sibling order and I just adored Iris.

This was such a brilliant book. I love seeing the standard romantic tropes in queer works, and I just adored Iris and Stevie so much. I loved their energy and their POVs, and I especially resonated with Iris. I liked seeing how Iris and Stevie came together, and I loved how they overcame themselves for each other.

I think the early part of the book relied more on "tell, don't show" which knocks it down a star, but I love this book a lot. Gonna be giggling and squealing for a while.

I’m really glad I got to explore this world again. But out of the three books in the series this was my least favorite. I don’t know why, but I couldn’t really get into Iris and Stevie‘s relationship. It didn’t have that oomf that I was expecting.

The chemistry just wasn’t really written well between Stevie and Iris for me. The whole plot felt choppy and was really hard to follow sometimes. I feel like character development could’ve been more thought and rushed.

I really wish I loved this book more than I did. It was still a good book. Just not my favorite.
