And with that, the Bright Falls story has concluded. It feels kind of hard to believe! And it’s so wonderfully right that it ends with Iris, Claire, Delilah, and Astrid all walking down the aisle.
I liked a lot of this book. The one thing I wasn’t really sure about was how everyone around Claire (and Stevie) insisted that love would make them better. That they needed it. But then, since this is a romance and there is a formula to these (including thethird act breakup ), I had to set my skepticism aside. And once I did, I really enjoyed the ride.

Well, I’ve reached the end of the road with my Bright Falls girls. I enjoyed each book more than the one before. Iris was my favorite of all of the friends so I had a feeling I would like this one the most. As always—cute storyline, likable characters, perfect amount of spice, and a sweet ending.
Also, while I appreciated the anxiety representation in this, I feel the author made generalized anxiety seem waaaay less common than it actually is?….maybe it’s just me.

i genuinely feel like i got got again. i didn’t finish astrid parker and only somewhat liked delilah green. i think i need to accept they just might not be for me.
while the book is well paced and it’s easy to become invested in the plot, I find a lot of the dialogue to be unnatural and cringy and just not at all how people talk to each other
i can’t decide how I feel about representation in this series because there’s a trend of there just being a trail of random characters who are mentioned once along with their identity (i.e. this is so and so and she’s a trans woman) and then they are never to be mentioned again! that along with the fact that the main 6 characters are all cis white women makes me raise my eyebrows idk im not trying to be overly critical!
i applaud the author in her dedication to incorporating themes surrounding mental health but thought it didn’t flow very well with the plot felt like she was whipping out the DSM
that being said, it was good as a reminder that I can read and hopefully will get my out of my reading slump. i just don’t think I’m one for a romcom book.
also the vibe is so aggressively millenial that I can’t handle it. also sorry but i don’t really need a rundown of everyone’s outfits every time they go anywhere
