I’ll give this 2.5 stars… I was given this book as a gift, as one of my friends enjoyed his books and is a fan. I do like some of his music, but I even find a lot of his music to be mediocre in my opinion. I didn’t come into this book with the highest of expectations which may have skewed my opinion on the book. It is semi-insightful, but nothing you haven’t heard many times before, and nothing extravagant that stuck out. I would prefer other self- help books. However, I did enjoy reading about his life getting into the music industry.

Was disappointed in the writing style from a favorite songwriter/artist... pretty much had reasonably high expectations just to feel as if I was given the most basic encouragement advice one the most elementary of levels.

Wow. Lot of good game in here. I don't normally read books like this and I couldn't tell you one song from the author, but a friend of mine bought a copy for me and I ripped through it. Lots of great observations on how to look at yourself and your work. If you need help believing in your dream, this is great stuff for that.
Thêm một cuốn sách nữa về Luật hấp dẫn mình thấy dễ hiểu, dễ đọc và motivate tốt.

3.5; I think it was a really fun and easy read with great advice. It’s all about the mindset and embracing your full potential. If you believe in yourself you can manifest and fulfill your wildest dreams as long as you stay dedicated. I appreciated the perspective and I would recommend for anyone who’s an overthinker perusing something creative. It’s a fun challenge to implement the advice though, because after all, it is all in your head.
If you take a peek, you'll see this book is sitting on my self recovery book shelf.
I've been through some trauma, that opened the windows to the world for me. It took something very destructive to happen to me to seek what I actually want. I'm talking almost a year of questioning oneself, constant negative talk, negative feedback, insecurities that I never had accumulating, although, I was a very insecure person. But crazy that I had to pass through that to self discover. And I'm so grateful for it too.
This book is part of my journey and if you struggle with confidence, with being too realistic, with insecurities, read this book. No - listen to it. He does a wonderful job.
I truly believe you need to be your own cheerleader, Russ takes it one step forward, you are your own prophet you are giving your present self the fantasy said into belief. His level of self confidence is human, although it definitely does come off cocky, I respect and strive to be in that place.
Some of my favorite messages :
In regards to the word "humble" - you should not pretend that you are a part of some strange show for other people where whoever has the most curtailed confidence wins.
Being alone is imperative - it is where you self explore.
Being realistic is the worst advice ever received. It brands a life of mediocrity. The people championing realism, are usually the people that gave up on their own dreams. It suffocates you and limits you to what's already been done so far
Feel the success so deeply that you believe it will happen tomorrow
and....
FUCK BEING HUMBLE! I have a new perspective on that word from this book and totally align with Russ's message.
