everyone around kirie is literally turning into spirals, but when her bf suggests anything about the spiral being the cause of it, she's like: the spiral?...no way! you're being very unreasonable and obsessed with spirals rn >:(
 like miss girly
 wut
anyways

the pase in the middle was very slow, and some stories were starting all to feel the same and repetitive, but near the very end there was a change in temperature and it all went down very fast.

where the plot lacked, I think the drawings covered for it.

definitely thought it was fun, i liked the beat

I read this for a spooky readathon and because I figured as an avid manga reader at some point in my life I should read at least one junji ito. I didn’t read it to like it and I knew I was incapable of doing so. It’s just not my thing. Because of this I don’t feel  comfortable giving it a rating, because it’s not the manga’s fault. Very disturbing. I’ll never be able to look at snails the same. Very impressive art just too gross/creepy for me.

I really felt invested in finding out the mystery of the town! I always enjoy Ito’s fantastic body horror art and Uzumaki has some of his most interesting panels.

Some of the chapters were one offs that, while interesting, didn’t seem to be connected to the main plot. Some that seem initially unrelated become part of the plot. I liked the ending but didn’t quite understand what was happening or why, which I think may be intentional.
