This story was really cute… I liked the plot basis behind it. I loved, loved, loved the songs written through out the book. In case you were wondering Eli and Lacy are both songwriters/singers/band members. I loved picturing in my mind them hurrying up to grab pen/paper/napkin to jot down lyrics. Lacy is having a serious problem writing her new album. She has had something tragic happen and she seems to have writer’s block. She only seems to have one friend who know’s depe down what is going on. Could there be more to this friend she has no clue since they never have actually met. See she is on an anonymous singer/songwriter sight. Could there be more to this online relationship?? Lacy is feeling a little lost in life then all of a sudden gets the chance to tour with a great new up and coming band. Of course all the band members are super attractive but it’s just one guy who catches her attention. While sparks may be flying with her tour mate she is unsure if she should go forward with him while her online partner awaits…

Eli is the songwriter for the band and while he doesn’t mind that Jax is taking all the credit he does mind if Jax takes his girl.. Wait.. she’s not his girl because he might be in love with someone from online. Eli was probably my favorite character in this whole book. He didn’t’ seem to stray from who he was deep down very much. He’s honestly a good guy who lets his band/best friend walk all over him. He is honest with everyone around him. Of course he is attractive… so that doesn’t hurt. I love, love, love the scene were he finds out who his online “friend” really is. I could see it plain as day in my head. I also thoroughly enjoyed the bands ongoing joke about the line “That’s what she said” which was so funny.

I wish I could’ve connected more towards Lacy. She comes off in the beginning as super depressed and not connected to the world. Then all of a sudden she’s like a sex kitten who pounces on the first guy she sees. That just didn’t vibe for me… I enjoyed the scenes where she would lay it out on the line for Eli and he would listen and tell her what happened was bullshit (I’m trying for no spoilers). Eli was amazing.. practically perfect in every way. All in all it was a really cute read…

Thank you to St. Martins Press and Netgalley for the ARC. This book will be released on Feb 2nd 2016

Man, it was so good to read two Ms. McGee books in a row! Although, I am a little bummed out that that means I won't have another new one to read whenever I want, but it was totally worth it to not hold off on reading Love Struck. It was another home run for Laurelin McGee and just amazing!

I loved Lacy, but OMG, that girl can just be a little frustrating sometimes! I wanted to shake some sense into her and there was a lot of moaning and groaning, shaking my head, and smacking my forehead. Lacy definitely has her moments that will make you do all of that and times where you'll wonder what she could possibly be thinking, but don't worry, she has her good moments too. I know I haven't made her seem like a great heroine, but she really was and I really did love her and enjoy being in her head.

I usually prefer my heroes to be total possessive, dominant alphas and while Eli hasn't completely changed my mind about that, I do have to say that I absolutely loved his sweet, sensitive nature! He does have his alpha-like moments though, but I preferred his romantic, sweet side more. I really didn't have any complaints about Eli - he's practically perfect except for a few things, but he remedies them and becomes an even greater man than he already was. Eli is just wonderful and he'll have you melting and falling in love with him in no time!

There is quite a difference between Love Struck and Miss Match and even misTaken. Love Struck isn't as light and funny - it's more serious and more emotionally draining. It's heartbreaking and frustrating but it will still make you laugh and it will definitely keep on your guard wondering what the next "Plot Twist" is going to bring even when you know what's likely coming. Love Struck is by no means an easy read, but that's what makes it so fantastic and worth it all in the end!

Love Struck is a standalone but I would recommend at least reading Miss Match before starting this one. It's told in Eli and Lacy's POV and they do get their happily-ever-after.

I enjoyed this book! I love music so this book totally was a win for me since it has to do with musicians. I enjoyed that the author wrote in alternating POV because it made it easier to understand each character better. This was a heart felt book and it did a good job of telling how romance can be found again when searching for oneself.

Love Struck, the second book in Laurelin McGee's Miss Match series, is a charming romance that relies heavily on misunderstandings to create conflict for lead protagonists Lacy Dawson and Eli Frank.

Lacy is a singer/songwriter who has been suffering from severe writer's block since her fiancé's death. After joining an anonymous online songwriter's support group in hopes of finding inspiration, she and another member, Folx, have grown very close. Forum rules prevent them from revealing their identities, but Lacy and Folx decide to set up a meeting in real life. Due to professional obligations, they have to put off their "date" for a few months and things get very complicated for both of them in the intervening months.

Lacy has been struggling for months to recapture her songwriting mojo and she definitely feels the pressure when her recording date for her next album moves up. No one but Folx knows how much trouble she has been having creating enough material for her new project but she still remains hopeful her creativity will resume before she hits the recording studio. When an unexpected opportunity arises for her fill in as opening act for another group, Lacy hopes spending time with other musicians will help get her back on track.

While Eli has no trouble writing new songs, he and his band mates have been struggling with creative differences for the past several months. Their lead singer, Jax, is temperamental and the rest of the band has been treating him with kid gloves for quite some time. Although he has been putting aside his personal differences with Jax because of their longstanding friendship, Eli's compassion and patience are about to run out but fear of making it on his own keeps him from making a decision about the band.

Until Lacy goes on tour, Love Struck is fast paced and engaging with witty banter and an obvious connection between Lacy and Folx. However, after Lacy meets Eli, the novel gets bogged down in misunderstandings and miscommunication. The pair are instantly drawn to one another and their attraction soon turns physical. It does not take long for their relationship to turn into a repetitious cycle of on again/off again as they push one another away only to give in to their desire then the whole cycle starts all over again. As if they do not have enough problems, Eli comes to shocking realization and makes decision that is well-meaning but becomes another source of conflict between them.

Love Struck is an enjoyable (albeit frustrating) romance between two very appealing characters. Lacy's portion of the storyline is poignant and Laurelin McGee deftly handles some difficult subject matter with a great deal of sensitivity. Eli is at a crossroads professionally and although it is not easy for him, he is eventually forced to make a difficult decision. The conflict between Lacy and Eli is initially interesting, but it drags on a little too long which makes it difficult to remain invested in the final outcome of their relationship. However, the overall premise of the novel is unique and the story is well written. All in all, a lovely addition to the Miss Match series.

Lacy's been having a hard time writing songs for her new album. She seeks support in an online community where she starts exchanging messages with another singer/songwriter. She develops a strong connection with her anonymous online friend which starts to lead to more, even though she has no idea who he is. Lacy is offered a huge opportunity to go on tour with an established band and develops feelings for one of the band members, Eli. They have great chemistry and Lacy has a connection with Eli, until she gets some clues that the lead singer Jax might be her online friend.

I really loved this story! I hate love triangles but this didn't feel like one at all. It was funny, light, sweet and sexy but also had some deeper moments. I absolutely adored Eli. He was so sweet. I liked the chemistry between Eli and Lacy. I also really enjoyed seeing more of Andy and Blake (from Miss Match.) This was a little more angsty than I was expecting but I really enjoyed it! I can't wait to read more by these authors!

Laurelin Paige and Kayti McGee's Love Struck is a swoony read which is full of romance that leaves you with a giddy feeling from start to finish. I adored the story line that Laurelin and Kayti adopted for this book. It wasn't fast paced neither it was so slow that I felt bogged down while reading.

There are tons of swoony-romance moments with loads of sexual tension. The anticipation of the main characters, Lacy and Eli, was driving me crazy! There were so many touch and go moments where they were literally a breath away from meeting each other and then BAM!
The opportunity flew away. I was climbing the wall for Lucy and Eli to just know about the real identity and for the mix up to clear up. I was flipping the pages so fast for that moment to come!

GAHHH!!! The authors literally tortured us with the anticipation.

Lacy and Eli make a beautiful pair who makes equally beautiful music. The story line is enticing and exactly what pulled me in to read this book.

There might be some of you who will find the anticipation of Lacy and Eli frustrating but there are enough good moments in the book, this little bit won't weigh heavily on your mind.

The banter was fun.
The couple was a beautiful pair.
The music was amazing.
The story line is enticing.

All in all Love Struck is a fun one time read.

Wow. Just wow.

Love Struck delivered everything I didn't even know I needed.

Lacy was completely relatable and human to me from page one. Yes, she had experienced heartache and loss, but, she had also had love and hope for A Great Day. Reading her struggles and how she made it through day to day until she really "met" Eli was heartbreaking and warming all at the same time. She was so human.

The interaction between Coda and Folx was so realistic. That safety that comes with a computer screen and anonymity. It was so there. The connection and care.

Eli was that man you want to just curl up with, listen to him strum along, and then smack him upside the head for being such a dummy sometimes!!

I adored reading this. I could not stop, even at work.

This is the second book in the Miss Match series, but these are standalone books with no overlapping characters.

I am the president of the fictional-band-groupie-club, so mention musicians in the blurb and I am in.

Love Struck is not really a rock star "rock star" book, but it is sweet, tender and very moving.

Lacy "LoveCoda" and Eli "Folx" have a beautiful online relationship and hope to make it more... but what if that happens earlier than they expect?

I adore Lacy and Eli - though at times Eli was a bit too soft for me. I wanted him to shout from the rooftops when he just seemed to let it all go by.

Lacy annoyed me at times with her flip flopping between Eli and his bandmate Jax - who really was the sex and drugs and rock and roll kind of guy.

I just wanted Eli and Lacy to get their act together!

But do they? For that you will have to read for yourself.

Love Struck was a quick, sweet, read. I just wanted to get everyone in a group hug.

I love rock star books, because they make me think of my Adam (sigh, he's mine). That said, my Adam was not the man I pictured when I read Love Struck. No, that award goes to Samuel Trèpanier. Thank you Leslie McAdam for the man candy inspiration.

Now this book, I am sure there is a Shakespeare story hidden in this plot. It certainly felt like a modern retelling of a Shakespeare comedy. Comedy of Errors maybe? Mistake! Misunderstanding. Misconception. Misinterpretation. Misery. It was all going on.

Lacy loves Lance and Lance loves Lacy, but Lance leaves Lacy in the most horrid way. Poor love. With her writing mojo gone, Lacy struggles with inspiration to create music and lyrics. She befriends Folxnotdead27 on a musicians Internet group and they bond whilst he tries to help get her creative juices flowing.

Then dream come true, a tour with an up and coming band, The Blue Hills, and hello Eli Frank. Talented sexy musician who steps in to help Lacy with her creative juices (wink).

My emotions were on a roller coaster. I laughed, I panicked (I will never, ever, climb the rigging), I was cross, angry, shmexy, stunned. Loved it.

I have read both Laurelin and Kayti before, it kind of felt more Kayti than Laurelin, I have no clue how the collaboration worked, but it worked well.

The wedding planner - hilarious. Lacypants and Songbird nicknames brilliant.
