4.5

This book is pure insanity. WOW.

I'm giving it a 4.5 because even though it was NASTY, it SURE AS HECK kept me entertained. Wow.

Lisa Jewell, since I can see you like this book so much, TAKE SOME NOTES. Not that your book is badly written, it kept me entertained too, but even though this is DISGUSTING, it's STILL less gross than whatever happened in your book. (Though I might revisit it in the future.)

This book takes a while to get going, but as SOON as it does, it doesn't stop. It's a wild ride until the end.
ABI IS A LITERAL PSYCHOPATH. SHE TRACKS DOWN THIS DUDE KNOWING THAT IT'S HER EX-HUSBAND'S SON (WHICH IS KIND OF INCEST), AND SEDUCES HIM TO GET PREGNANT TO GET BACK AT HER BEST FRIEND. AND THEN TELLS THEM THE BABY'S DEAD. LIAM DOESN'T KNOW SHE HAD THE BABY. LIKE DANG. THIS BOOK IS PURE INSANITY.

I rate this book over Then She Was Gone purely because it kept me interested, and even though the nastiness is almost level, it didn't have anything as bad as Ellie literally getting inseminated and pregnant with some random dude's sperm bought off the dark web. (Not even going to MENTION her boyfriend getting with her sister.) I only compare these two books so much because I feel like they're both the same kind of book. This is a whole genre of books that I wasn't even aware existed until recently, and they are so messed up, but they allure me in so many ways. I'm probably gonna have to read Then She Was Gone again so I can appreciate this genre of books more. I'm so scared but so excited at the same time.

4.5 Stars. Wow.
