This book has two of my favorite tropes: bestfriends turned lovers and rivals turned lovers and I live for it.
Cope and Penn's love story is a long time coming, and it's bittersweet.
They bonded since childhood over having similar backgrounds (e.g. having shitty parents) and a rude awakening drove them apart a few years.
Throw in Leah and you have the three Musketeers fulfilling a fake love triangle.
Would have scored this book higher if Leah's character was treated a little bit better and the ending didn't seem rushed.

I’m judging myself SO HARD for how much I ate this book up. It was objectively terrible. It was full of OTT drama(that was very unrealistic even for fiction), underdeveloped side characters, and plot holes…..but sometimes I crave toxicity and this book DELIVERED.
