So in Batman Earth one we come across the Riddler I've got the Riddler was one of my favorites when I was a kid also the Joker obviously we also come across the crocodile who lives in the sewer so the Riddler starts killing people the first one was in an elevator the next one was at an art showing and the third one was a train and the last one was at the police station so Batman needs to figure out what's going on he figures out pretty fast that the crocodile guy doesn't have anything to do with it he's just a guy who wants to chill and doesn't want people shooting at him just because of his skin condition but if you want to know what happened and you got a read it I'm not going to give you all the information and just going to say it's a really good volume

I'm really enjoying this retelling (although I still miss the old Alfred). There's good energy; it's fun; and it's a believable origin story to me about Batman. I want more, since this volume ended with a teaser about the introduction of Catwoman. The art is good, but I don't love it as much as the art I've seen in some other Batman titles, especially the big close-up panels of startled Batman (kind of scary and awkward looking). I'm excited that Killer Croc is a good guy; I've always had a soft spot for him.

Building on from Volume 1, I felt there was much more character along with many more characters in this one. Probably faster paced than the prior one but introduces the Riddler and a few more mainstays. The book sticks to the fundamentals adding a shade of grey here and there to add a fresh perspective to this story.

Found the plotting more satisfying in this second volume and glad I gave this series a second look despite my lukewarm initial reaction to Volume 1.

...Yeah, this wasn't good.
The same problems simply move on to this book, but far worse with the Batman getting more and more famous. See, I don't quite understand how people are afraid of this guy, unlike the other Batmen because all the other Batmen have certain traits or smarts that make them terrifying.
Not Earth One Batman.
He's pretty naive for someone that's lived in this city all his life. Ridder's existence shouldn't shock him this much. Sure, he can get mad, but he acts like his murders are something entirely mind-opening for evil. Eart One Batman also really does have the mind of a teenager because his dialogue makes him sound so dumb that any response other characters give him seem so weird. I can't put my finger on it, but the way people talk to Bruce makes them turn into a sitcom version of themselves. Once they're not talking to him, they're right back to actual good characters.

On the top of characters, The Ridder was pretty disappointing as a villain. He was just a manic who killed people in a unique way. That's about it.
There's one volume left, so I may as well read it to see Catwoman. Other than that, volume 2 is a big downgrade.

Continues the fun but unremarkable Earth One series. Re-imagines Harvey Dent as the abrasive and aggressive twin brother of a more pleasant Dent sister, which makes the inevitable creation of Two-Face pretty interesting.

Another great installment in the series! I can’t wait to read the next volume.
