This is probably my favorite anthology ever. I found myself wishing that some many of the stories would continue or give me more. Not because they were lacking, but because they were absolutely spell binding.

Overall this was pretty good with a lot of intriguing yet chilling stories. I think it took me a while to read because it’s composed of a bunch of short stories and therefore I felt like I didn’t need to rush through each story or continue to read to see what happens compared to traditional books. Some of my favorite stories were “White hills”, “Navajos don’t wear Elk teeth”, “Quantum”, “The ones who killed us”, “Snakes are born in the dark”, “Before I go”, “The prepper”, “Sundays” “Night Moves”, “Capgras” and “Collections”. Some of them I wish the story went on a little longer or have a more Climatic ending to make the story complete. Overall an intriguing and different read!

This book was really fantastic, and I was hooked by the end of the forward! It's a collection of short stories by Native authors about Native stories. Some are "ghost" stories about spirits or creatures you might tell around a campfire, about specific traditional lore set in either modern or historic times, etc. Some stories I liked more than others, but these were generally really digestible and quick reads. I didn't find them to be "horror" per se, but I think they really made you think and question. Which I loved!! Highly recommend for sure.

I want to say I had fun reading this but a good number of the stories scared me or creeped me out, which is the goal of horror so...yeah I got what I wanted. I liked some of the stories better than others, some just confused me and I still don't know what happened in those stories. I found some of the writing styles not to my taste but I also found a lot that I LOVED. I was really excited to see that Darcie Little Badger had a piece in here.  Overall, it was a great read and I'm glad I was able to check it off my TBR list.

I don't want to give a star rating because there are just too many stories to consider. Plus I don't even like giving ratings, it feels a bit meaningless.

I love a good anthology and this was a great one. Each story has a different perspective, a different horror, a different voice. Along with monsters, we see real horrors that many Native people deal with. Loved this from start to finish
