I loved the concept and liked the story, enjoyed the socioeconomic connotations and how innate racism was explored. Good sci fi book that will stay with me!

Jane Rogers has written a captivating futuristic novel with fine character development and a thought-provoking plot. The story unfolds through descriptive accounts of young people who agree to be research participants in a trial involving the transfer of dead people’s digital minds into their bodies.
Unemployment and poverty abound as robots are employed in many occupations.
Jane Rogers has succeeded in writing a very believable account which examines the issues of ethics, abuse and the exploitation of the vulnerable.

In a small, private clinic poor teenagers from northern estates are paid ten thousand pounds so that memories can be downloaded to their brains and the wealthy dead can inhabit their bodies for fourteen days. Predictably, things go awry.
Although I liked the concept of this book, it somehow fell a bit flat in the execution. The narrative switches between characters' viewpoints and some voices didn't feel very authentic or their stories seemed rushed. I know it's sci-fi and you need to suspend disbelief to a certain extent, but I wasn't convinced by the science behind the procedure or some of the characters' actions. It felt as if maybe Rogers had several short stories that she adapted to be linked by a common theme?

This is another one where it looked fantastic on paper but in reality, I just couldn't get into it despite reading until 25%.
This one is set in a future where cutting-edge and secret technology allows a digitally stored dead consciousness to be uploading into a living person hence the term body tourist.
While I found the idea extremely intriguing the actual execution here was less so.
This was in itself well written I just found it monotonous and slightly tedious.
I threw in the towel a quarter way through as I had no inclination to proceed further with this which was unfortunate as I was initially excited to embark with this one.
Unfortunately, this one just wasn't for me.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Body Tourists.

Fascinating concept, devastating consequences. Money always comes with a catch hey. That's always been the way the wealthy keeps us ordinary folk under control and stories like this just remind us how far they would go.

I got to the end of the third chapter. It started off with a really cliched and stereotypically autistic scientist which fucked me off and then it was just a bit meh so I decided I couldn’t be arsed.
