I love the Marshalls for their ability to tackle real-life topics with laugh-out-loud humor.  Sure, other easy readers discuss friendship and having crushes, but for Fox to be totally in love with not only Raisin, but three other girls?  Well, there's bound to be conflict!  The other easy readers I've read from the past couple years don't seem to take such strife to really push this really, really funny conflict.  With Edward Marshall's knack for writing easily and understandably and James Marshall's typical illustrations with those hilarious beady little eyes and forlorn expressions, Fox in Love makes for a great read for young ones.
