My reviews are beginning to make it seem like I give out 5 stars willy nilly, seemingly diminishing the weight of that badge. This is not the case—I am simply lucky to have encountered so many great stories, including this one. This story is emotional and beautiful. You will love Addie LaRue. You will remember Addie LaRue.

This book was amazing. The writing was beautiful and incredibly detailed. This book takes place in many different places in a timeline of around 300 years and you can imagine yourself in each place and time. I found such admiration in the flawed characters trying to live in a confusing world. I love the back and forth of time and place, however if you are not a fan of that type of writing I would avoid this book since that is how the whole book is written. Overall, this book was such an interesting topic that make me laugh, smile, and even cry. I would 100% recommend this.

I really enjoyed this book. It lost half a star as some parts felt super slow, but the last ~150 pages really grabbed me. I'm still not super sure on Addie's ending either.

The first 300 pages were very slow and dragged on, the last 150 pages really drew me in and made me finish the book! V.E. Schwab’s writing style is beautiful!
