I couldn't put this book down, I started of confused but interested and I got further in I started to piece things together. The twists and turns were shocking but so clever. Really recommend!

Unfortunately this was a DNF for me, I could not gel with it at all, I gave it an Ernest try, but nope, very repetitive, the first 100, pages are just a woman hearing something in the garden and being too scared to look over and over again. Ugh. It is very rare I don't persevere, even if it is a slog, but this I just couldn't with this.

This book is not what the cover and the description lead you to believe it is. If it would have described the other side of the dual narrative, I probably would not have read it. I was expecting a creepy horror story and instead wound up with a medical "thriller." I use the word thriller in quotes because there were no twists, everything was ridiculously predictable. I finished it hoping there would be something else but literally I guessed the entire book by like the halfway point at least, probably sooner. Not all books needs surprise twists but most suspense books do and especially this one as it was all it really would have had going for it. The phenomenon this book was based on should not have been presented in a thriller format, not this way. It was almost offensive in parts. I wouldn't recommend it.

The Cottage

By Lisa Stone

What a wild ride. Multiple POV’s, mystery with thriller elements. Atmospheric. Amazing world building and characters. I couldn’t put this one down.

An isolated cottage...
After losing her job and boyfriend, Jan Hamlin is in desperate need of a fresh start. So she jumps at the chance to rent a secluded cottage on the edge of Coleshaw Woods.

A tap at the window...
Very quickly though, things take a dark turn. At night, Jan hears strange noises, and faint taps at the window. Something, or someone, is out there.

A forest that hides many secrets...
Jan refuses to be scared off. But whoever is outside isn’t going away, and it soon becomes clear that the nightmare is only just beginning...
