Another enjoyable read from Abby Jimenez. I really liked the main characters and enjoyed a different kind of rom com from this story. Characters who want to be together from the start but life gets in the way. (Instead of enemies to lovers or other tropes that sometimes feel more contrived to me.) The animal loving theme didn't hurt at all for me either.
This book was a great surprise because it had such negative reviews when it first came out. I loved the story and the MMC. The good parts of the story truly outweigh the negative reviews (ACOTAR and TikTok references)

I waited so long to read Say You'll Remember Me because I heard such mixed things about this book. I should have trusted in Abby Jimenez and how she has proven since Part Of Your World why she is my favourite romance/women's fiction author. She just perfectly combines heavy topics such as dementia, a family struggling to take care of a loved one and the lingering trauma of childhood abuse with a sweet romance that has its own battles. And the most important part: the sad parts aren't there to include trauma for the sake of trauma but because they matter. They form the characters, are part of what drives the character forward and also mirror what many readers probably know from own experience.
With her characters being in their late twenties/early thirties (I forget which) I can relate to their emotional journeys even though I don't share their stories. Sam and Xavier felt real to me and I was glad to witness their journey, even with its lows, and was so satisfied by the ending! There were only two was it could go and Abby Jimenez made the right choice. While this may not be my favourite of her books, it is still a great read and I am already looking forward to her next work.

The characters in this book make really stupid decisions. Relationships weren’t developed enough.
