A charming and disquieting reminder that fears about machines “stealing” man’s work have been here long before the current wave of soul destroying AI generated internet. More prophetic was the question of if a more convenient and comfortable life was worth one devoid of any purpose or pursuit. We humans love the act of creation far more than the purpose of or the creation itself.

Defunctland’s video of animatronics goes with this like bread with butter. Highly recommend.

What i most remember about this book is it being a less poignant version of 1984
